Abstract
Liver failure is a disease characterized by inflammation of the liver tissue that, if not treated properly, can endanger life. There can be several causes and risk factors from the most common viruses, to genetic diseases, drugs and alcohol. The project aims to understand the importance of prevention and education, in order to reduce the chances of getting sick. Planning an appropriate therapeutic process improves the chances of survival, reduces complications and comorbidities and avoids drastic therapeutic solutions such as liver transplantation. In the first part of this paper the main hepatoleptic factors are presented, then the specific assistance provided in the hospital was analysed, focusing in particular on the active role of the nurse. The central part deals in a specific way with prevention and the importance that it possesses. The possible pharmacological and surgical therapies that are addressed. Also it analized the relevance of education, therapeutic adhesion and follow up. The last part presents an information brochure that aims to educate citizens to know, prevent and treat liver failure. The field in which we would like to spread it is the clinics of general practitioners, a privileged place in which to carry out prevention activities.
