Abstract
The packaging of a stoma and the subsequent return to home, after surgery, are two moments of extreme delicacy for the patient, who is facing a reality different from the usual one, with important difficulties in the different multidimensional spheres. A holistic approach by the stomaterapist nurse and related experts in the field, as well as support and participation in self-help groups and stoma associations, are an important resource for the patient, representing them as reference points for any necessity. In addition, with the recent development of internet and technologies, is born the concept of a new type of support: the social media. The purpose of this study is to investigate, in terms of effectiveness and reliability, on patient consultation of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, to find information or seek support in online communities after discharge, once back home.
