Abstract
This thesis paper deals, in general, with nursing care in palliative care and professional and non-professional figures who are part of it and revolve around the patient being assisted in the home setting. In particular, the thesis focuses on the figure of the family caregiver, who is identified among the family members as the most suitable for providing a series of assistance-type activities for the care of the sick. Since the family caregiver is, most of the time, an untrained person or in any case not very experienced in health-related interventions, he needs support from health professionals to adequately fulfill the burdensome responsibilities that the assistance of the chronically ill in advanced stage requires. The paper, therefore, analyzes the therapeutic interventions that can "lighten" the role of the family caregiver, preserving their health and well-being. The thesis is compiling and the databases used to search for writing material are Pubmed, Google scholar and traditional research sites, implemented by the use of textbooks. The keywords used for the research are “palliative care”, “multidisciplinary équipe”, “counseling”, “nurse”, “caregiver”, “family centered” and combinations between them.
