Abstract
Obesity is a chronic disease whose frequency is constantly and worryingly increasing, especially in recent years. The obesity treatments available today are varied, and the main therapeutic options include dietary-nutritional therapy, physical activity, behavioral therapy, drug therapy, and bariatric surgery. During the internship at the Complex Structure of General Surgery, Emergency and New Technologies of the University Hospital of Modena, I was able to assist patients undergoing bariatric surgery, from which doubts often emerged, questions and uncertainties about what would have happened following his resignation. The main objective of the thesis is to inform and educate the patient after the end of his hospitalization, in order to help him in the post-operative rehabilitation and recovery phase. In collaboration with the Department of General and Emergency Surgery, I have created an information leaflet that will be distributed to all patients undergoing bariatric surgery when the hospital admission ends.
