Abstract
The Polyclinic Hospital of Modena is one among the provincial structures with the greatest turnout, counting more than 63 thousand accesses in a year. The majority of the patients show minor health issues (approximately 80%). They are usually given a white or green code. The current treatment procedure entail long waiting times, causing a severe overcrowding issue. The abovementioned situation determines people dissatisfaction for the received procedure and, above all, the hospital staff is not able to work in an ideal psycho physical well-being due to the stressing environment where they are forced to work. In this way the hospital staff is subjected to burnout. The objective of this thesis is to search for an alternative pathway. It could be possible to create a See and Treat first aid station inside the "Case della Comunità". This solution would imply the white and green codes management by the nursing staff who would follow a specific protocol, accompanied by a doctor or a specialist in case of necessity. The fulfillment of this project should be considered as a fundamental innovation for the modenese healthcare system. As a matter of fact, it would benefit in terms of quality of the assistance and the consequent satisfaction of the healthcare workers and patients.
