Abstract

This thesis focuses on the phenomenon of vaccine hesitancy during the COVID-19 pandemic, an important topic as it represents a threat to collective health and and an obstacle to the effectiveness of the vaccination campaign. By "hesitant" we mean that group of people who do not accept vaccines, postpone their administration or do so but with hesitation. The difficult decision-making process involves determining factors that may lead to a negative choice, such as exposure to fake news through the use of social media. Nurses play a significant role in communicating evidence-based information regarding Covid-19 and the related vaccines, thanks to educational interventions through the use of social media. A bibliographic research has been done to write this thesis, by consulting databases such as CINAHL, PubMed, Cochrane Library with the use of the keywords: "vaccine hesitancy", "health promotion", "nursing", "covid-19", "communication", "Social media", and by consulting the websites of the official bodies, the idea of proposing a Facebook group managed by health professionals was analyzed with the aim of creating a platform where citizens could receive answers to questions and read information.
