Abstract
This thesis addresses the topic of bronchial asthma and the role of the education of asthmatic patients. In Italy, as in the rest of the world, the prevalence is constantly increasing, and the education of asthmatic patients has a crucial role in improving the disease control. The aim of the manuscript is to describe bronchial asthma, and to understand if patient education can really bring significant changes achieving asthma control. For the drafting, a review of the literature was carried out through the search for scientific articles in the databases. The clinical part, was elaborated through the use of national asthma guidelines. Effective asthma education can help people to obtain a better control of their disease, which is the key for their health , can lead to a decrease in unscheduled visits, emergency room and hospitalizations. All health professionals should take care of asthma patient education because this improves the health status and quality of life of patients who suffer from it.
