Abstract
We are in a historic period in which health professionals are frequently offering care to migrant patients of foreign origin who, for better stability, have to migrate from their country of origin. The difficulty of grafting one’s life into a new cultural and social reality, different from that of origin to which one was accustomed, often leads to the phenomenon that is called “cultural shock”, a term used to describe feelings of anxiety, bewildement, disorientation and confusion, which can lead to a crisis of identity with psycological repercussions. The objective in this work have been achived through the consultation of various bibliographic texts present in the literature, concerning the themes of migration, nursing care and transcultural nursing. For bibliographic search, were used the database od Pubmed, Medical Humanities and the Google Scholar search engine were consulted.
