Abstract
This work is aimed at giving a detailed description of what Platform FlagMii is, how it works and how it fits into the activities of the Emergency Medical System operations Center. The nursing staff, who has acquired advanced skills in clinical, relational and IT areas, employs this platform in order to improve the answer of the EMS in case of particularly critical conditions such as cardiac arrest, airway obstruction, car crashes, precipitate labour, localization of the accident site in isolated areas, etc. The combined use of this new technology, when available, along with detailed Ambulance Pre- Arrival Instructions allows the EMS operators to achieve major accuracy as to the identification of the real clinical condition of the patient as well as the assistance and support they can provide while waiting for the first available ambulance to arrive at the emergency site.
