Abstract
Euthanasia and palliative sedation represent a sensible topic for todays and contemporary society. The two practices often being commonly understood as interchangeable. The reasons behind this are related to both the spread of fake news and general dis-information which regards most of the population, health care workers included. laws n.38/2010 and n.219/2017 provided normative actions which guarantee assistance in palliative health cure for pain in Italy, while at the same time the right to life, health, dignity and auto determination is untouched. In these situations, nurses play a crucial role, since they have the duty of driving patients in all steps of their illness, death included, while at the same time, recognizing and respecting death as natural step of life, and in particular on the respect of dignity and right of patients under an ethical and deontological prospective. Whereas there is no transparency and confusion regarding information is excessive, nurses must instill trust and sense of security in their patients, while collaborating with crew of experts. In this thesis, the goal is to clarify the differences between those practices by defining a panoramic overview and by proposing ideas which are able to reduce disinformation about the topic and bad behavior among nurses.
