Abstract
This thesis work focuses on the nursing management of patients with active tuberculosis (tbc). This infectious disease is little known to date, but still endemic. The importance of therapeutic adherence in patients with infectious disease is one of nurses main objectives. Considering the increasing numbers of the population with active tbc and the risk of developing antibiotic resistance. Through the case report and NANDA-I, NOC e NIC planning, it is shown how correct knowledge and adherence to therapy can lead to a better outcome of treatments even though drug therapy remains the same. It is therefore advisable to guarantee adequate and customized assistance to these patients, establishing an effective helping relationship that allows them to understand their basic needs and promotes the protection and respect for the patient's dignity, even in the long period of care that awaits him. In the context of infectious diseases, the nurse protects humanity and maintains the best possible quality of life for the patient, a true protagonist of assistance and treatment.
