Abstract

This thesis paper deals with the Covid-19 vaccination campaign, through the analysis of data in Italy and Emilia-Romagna, focusing particular attention on the role of the nurse in the territory. The pandemic situation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that the population has had to face since the beginning of 2020, has drawn attention to the importance of vaccination, as a means of global protection against the virus. The data relating to the administration of vaccine in Italy and in the Emilia-Romagna region, included in the thesis, were analysed by evaluating the progress of the vaccination campaign by means of data reported on graphs created by using the Python programming language. What could be seen noticed clear, is the increasing trend of the graph line since the very beginning of the vaccination campaign, thanks to all those health workers who strongly believed in the vaccine and voluntarily decided to undergo the inoculation, giving an important signal to the community. During this dramatic period, our country's health system needed to the turn towards new model of care, consolidating the figure of the family and community nurse, in order to strengthen nursing services, to enhance the care of the population in the territory. The benefit is to ensure an adeguate continuity of care both at home and in outpatient settings, becoming a reference point for the community, offering the necessary assistance and promoting all form of health. In conclusion, the above data evidence the role of the nurse as a reference point for the community, placing the citizen at the heart of the care system, thereby citizien will became the key protagonist. All this is made possible through health promotion (as in the case of the anti Covid-19 vaccination campaign) and with the developement of health education programmes, which aims to achieve a high level of protection, well-being and social cohesion.
