Abstract
The dissrtention stems from the desire to create an information booklet addressed to all those patients who suffer from carotid diseases/pathologies, educate and support them throghout their hospital stay. Moreover, thanks to my internship, i have developed an interest in carotid pathologies, therefore i decided to deepen this issue with a detailed study. Objectives 1. Provide information to the patient and family through an information booklet which includes the details of the surgeon’s 2. Establish the role of the nurse for the entire patient care. 3. Thoroughly investigate the two carotid surgery options for the patient 4. Ensure therapeutic education to the patient from his registration inte the surgery list until his homecoming Methods and materials 1. Consultation and analysis of text bibliography 2. Consultations and analysis of medical database Conclusions Ultimately, we have defined the role of the nurse from the management of the patient’s takeover until his relase, we have highlighted the importance of therapeutic education for the patient and his family. Two information booklets have been designed covering the two surgery options for the patient who suffer from carotid pathologies.
