Abstract
This thesis is addressed to the family of the child with an enterostomy. After enterostomy surgery, parents have to cope with a new situation that may change their lives for a short time or permanently. Stress, anxiety, and worries for the child are the common feelings they have to face after the diagnosis. Through therapeutic education, parents can actively participate in the process of caring for their child, until they become independent in the management of the ostomy. This is possible through therapeutic education, which is the transfer of practical and theoretical knowledge, by the health care provider to the patient and caregiver. Knowing the disease and its implications means reducing complications and ensuring a dignified life for the child, just like other children. The goal of this thesis is to create an informational booklet, to be given to parents of children who are hospitalized in the Department of Pediatric Surgery for a disease requiring the creation of an enterostomy. The booklet aims to be a supporting tool for the therapeutic education that is normally carried out at the patient's bedside.
