Abstract

Both acute and chronic pain has become a universal problem; statistics indicate that mainly chronic pain is extremely widespread: it affects all age groups and in addition, is one of the most frequent causes of consultation with health professionals. If not properly treated, no longer abandons the subject that is affected, often compromising their psychophysical well-being, the emotional condition and relational ability. For all these reasons, it is defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as one of the biggest global public health problems. Motivation that led me to develop this elaborate was born from an experience personal. My father died at a young age because of a serious illness experienced the suffering of pain. At that time it was not controlled drug management is considered important and therefore my father following self-management at home went to meet a abuse condition worsening more and more his state of health. currently the specific literature highlights the importance of antalgic treatment associated with non-pharmacological interventions that respect the subjectivity of the person. Such treatments must always be checked and evaluated by the following health services. The therapy program also includes personal education aimed at developing awareness of the appropriate intake of drugs in order to avoid addiction. The ultimate goal of my this is to sensitize my future nursing colleagues to evidence to increase their knowledge and skills to to improve the management and management of the person with pain. The role of the nurse is of paramount importance as is the one that most interacts with the person with health, such as to become a reference point to be consulted in case of pain and need some help.
