Abstract
This thesis is a compilation one and deals with the bladder catheter giving general information on the indwelling bladder catheter and the different types of catheter, it gives indications for the appropriate insertion of the bladder catheter, indications of inappropriate use and contraindications to catasterism. It deals with health education for the patient and / or her caregiver with regard to catheter management and the prevention bladder catheter-related infections at home. Describes the procedure for inserting and removing the bladder catheter. The figure of the home care nurse and the management of the bladder catheter at home is described. It also reports the internship experience carried out at the Carpi home care assistance regarding the management of the bladder catheter at home by nurses. Finally, we find attached an informative brochure useful to be given to catheterized patients.
