Abstract

"Breast milk is one of the greatest riches that a woman can give to the newborn". This is what the WHO says and as such is an exemplary phrase that testifies to the importance of breastfeeding. This process is sometimes full of difficulties and obstacles, but in the presence of a premature newborn the situation is further complicated I have described the components of the milk the advantages it presents, the different modes of extraction, storage and consideration of the possibility of using the donated milk. I highlighted the nursing care needed to feed a premature newborn mediated the different feeding modes. My work has two objectives: the first is to highlight the importance of breast-feeding in premature infants; the second is to highlight the nursing role it has to play in facilitating the initiation and maintenance of breast-feeding in the premature infant.Several primary sources have been used for bibliographic research, like Google Scholar and Pubmed. I have created a brochure on breast-feeding in the premature infant to inform and support parents in this sometimes complex and unforeseen journey. The keywords of the elaborate are: preterm infants, enteral nutrition, Breastfeeding, Nursing.
