Abstract
The aneurysm to the abdominal aorta is a vascular pathology characterized by a dilation of a vessel. Its finding is time-dependent, since its break or dissection could lead to death. Nonetheless, if precociously diagnosed, the disease can be treated by medical therapy or surgery and, in this case, it will not have a negative influence on the patients life. The purpose of this study is to illustrate the complexity of medical support to patients who suffer from this pathology, especially from the nursing point of view, with a distinction related to clinical times and the therapy which is used to treat this disease. In the first section, after an introduction on definition and on the epidemiology, the diagnostics and symptomatology of aneurysm-suffering-patients are presented. Then, the thesis examines the possible complications and the relative medical treatment. The second section focuses on the surgery in detail by evaluating and describing the different typologies of therapeutic approaches, possible complications and the necessary rehabilitation. Finally, the study analyses the nursing care with the support of a clinical case and the respective assistance schedule, with respect to the taxonomy NANDA, NOC and NIC.
