Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has forced professionals to undertake changes in the ways of care and assistance, such as the closures of numerous territorial settings. These consequences mostly affected chronic patients that have seen changed the welfare model. The patient affected by chronic wounds and healthcare workers has seen changes in protocols in order to contain the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and ensure minimum level of assistance. Ausl of Modena, Region Emilia Romagna on the indication of the Italian Healthcare Department have implemented very drastic organizational and resource management measures. The figure of territorial nurse has changed thanks to the development of the paradigm of the Family and Community nurse as primary health care provider and front liner. The case report of a patient with chronic wounds illustrates how changes were implemented during first wave of Covid-19 pandemic, with related consequences. In this period the nursing profession is involved in changes and opportunities, both in implementation of specific competences and modulation according to events.
