Abstract
This thesis paper aims to compare nursing care for elderly patients with cognitive impairment and nursing care for elderly patients with cognitive impairment with SARS-infectionCov-2, with the aim of highlighting the differences, in order to focus attention on the issues that need more attention, to plan nursing care for the elderly with cognitive impairment and infection due to SARS-Cov-2 as effective as possible. To produce this thesis, papers and scientific articles were researched on databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar and Scopus, using keywords such as: SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, coronavirus, nursing, symptoms, diagnosis, therapy. In addition, textbooks and sites such as: Epicentro, Sistema Sanitario Nazionale, Ministero della Salute, World Health Organization, fondazione Umberto Veronesi, Servizio Sanitario Regionale Emilia-Romagna, were consulted. The paper consists of four chapters: the first presents a general overview of the SARS-Cov-2 virus and its pathology, the second provides a framework for the cognitive decay and nursing needs of people with dementia, in the third chapter a clinical case with the related care planning focused on the main diagnoses is reported, produced with the taxonomy NANDA-International, NOC and NIC and in the fourth chapiter a comparison is made between the two types of nursing care.
