Abstract

Premature infant is when the birth takes place before the completion of the 37th week of gestational age, that is the 259th day of pregnancy. It is the most important cause of death in the first year of life and it is associated with more morbidity. However, early, timely and individualized intervention can affect neuro-evolutional development, tanks to Central Nervous System's features of elasticity and adaptability. In order to obtain material about that project, it was carried out a literature review of recent scientific literature on the main biomedical database, magazines and inherent books knowledge of neonatology. Premature newborn baby interrupts his development inside the uterine protect environment to carry on the Neonatal Intensive Therapy artificial environment; and this is where nursing and all those who form the multidisciplinary team, it is significant. The goal is to create and maintain that environment in such a way that the conditions of neuro-psychomotor development of the newborn are best guaranteed. Preterm birth with high immaturity poses a risk to the development of basic functions. The primary objective of this thesis is to show how the interventions and all the precautions put in place by the nurse who takes care of a premature newborn are fundamental in order to humanise the quality of his stay in Neonatal Intensive Therapy and the subsequent neuroevolutionary development.
