Abstract
Objective of the study: to understand the role and experience, during the Covid-19 global emergency, of the nurses of the Penitentiary Institute "Casa Circondariale Sant'Anna" in Modena through a semi-structured interview. The purpose of the survey is to identify, in qualitative terms, how the nursing care provided within the prison environment taken into account during the Covid-19 emergency has changed and highlight the role and in particular the experience of health workers. Keywords: prison, prisoner, inmate, nurse, intervention nursing care, nursing care quality, covid-19, pandemic, coronavirus, riots, prevention. Databases consulted: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library. Materials and methods: semi-structured questionnaire, through an interview that took place as a virtual interview in the presence of the thesis supervisor and prison nurses. Some questions were asked in a general way to let nurses recall their perceptions and experiences during the health emergency. Sample: 16 healthcare professionals. Data analysis: Interviews were collected, evaluated and analyzed. Results: the results obtained show that regardless of the Covid-19 emergency situation the nurses interviewed showed a high threshold of job satisfaction, there have been no cases of burn-out inside the prison and the relationship with the detainees has not undergone significant changes.
