Abstract
The study wants to bring out the importance of relationship between nurse and person with leukemia in a moment, to me, delicate and vulnerable during the disease journey: the diagnosis and the treatment. The method used for writing is a narrative review of literature, whose bibliography research was carried out through the analysis of articles in international nursing newspapers and journals (Seminars in Oncology Nursing), systematic reviews (Cochrane Library), national associations and international organizations’ websites (AIRC, IARC) and databases (PubMed, Nursing Reference Center, Cinahl). From the research emerges that the nurse does not only carry out technical interventions, but he is the key support figure throughout the person's disease path: he clarifies perplexities, observes and listens actively, manages the person's emotions in an empathic and personalized way.
