Abstract

Covid-19 is a syndrome caused by a new Coronavirus, Sars-Cov-2. This disease show non specific manifestation, the signs and symptoms differs on comorbidity’s patient. Worst cases scenario lead to pneumonia, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, and other kind of pathologies, needing admission to Intensive Care Unit. Beside physichal health, the new Coronavirus had a big impact on mental health too. The lack of human contact, uncertainty for future, social media, the stigmatization and the fear for the disease bring to an increase of psychological distress in frontline nurses. Studies showed how burnout, post-traumatic stress disorder and emotional distress grew up for nurses. The Intensive Care Unit's characteristics and restrictions had negative impact on patient and caregiver's mental health. Considering patient's critical conditions, the family represent reference point for healthcare professional. Due to all measures introduced in order to limit the spread of the infection, patient-family communications changed according to these limitations, however, healtcare personnel took care of patients needs. The paper has the goal to analyze the assistance's peculiarities of Intensive Care Unit hospitalized patients, caused by Covid-19 infection, studying psycological aspects of nurses, patients and families, highliting care relationship also in an emergential situation. Through the Nanda, Nic and Noc taxonomy, a care plan is drawn up for a patient tested positive to Covid-19, also emphasising caregiver's needs
