Abstract
Schizophrenia is one of the most disabling psychiatric pathologies, characterized by specific symptoms that cause cognitive, social and occupational deficits. The paper aims to discuss about and make people understand the complexity of the assistance, especially the nursing one, for the patient suffering from psychotic disorders. In the first two chapters, the paper outlines an accurate theoretical exposition on what psychiatry is, followed by a focus on schizophrenic disorder. Then it explains signs and symptoms of the disease. The following chapter is about the Mental Health Center. It explains all the psychoeducational and rehabilitative activities that the nurse carries out within the center, dealing with any frustrations that may be encountered during the treatment process. Finally, the paper presents a clinical case with details about the care plan and references to NIC, NOC and NANDA taxonomy.
