Abstract
This review of the literature investigates the problems caused by hospitalization for a person with Alzheimer's disease and the measures to prevent them. Alzheimer's disease, the diagnostic phase, its course and treatment are introduced. As there is still no specific pharmacological treatment, the nursing role concerns to ensure a better quality of life and the education of the cargiver to take care of the patient and himself. Therefore, prevention, therapeutic and rehabilitation activities are highlighted in order to avoid hospitalization and its complications. We found the activities described above, in Nursing Diagnoses (NANDA-I), Outcomes (NOC), and Interventions (NIC). The search for the articles necessary for the review was carried out on the Pubmed, Cinahl portals and by consulting some internet sites. In conclusion, it's important to treat the person suffering from dementia at home with specific interventions to ensure the best quality of life, preserve autonomy as long as possible, and avoid complications related to hospitalization.
