Abstract
This thesis focuses on the phenomenon of vaccine hesitancy during the pandemic of COVID-19, an important issue becauses it constitutes a threat for global health and an obstacle to the effectiveness of the vaccination campaign. Hesitant people are those who do not accept vaccines (or part of them), postpone the administration of vaccines or accept to undergo to vaccines but still have doubts about the vaccination practice. The complex decision-making process involves factors which may lead to a negative choice, such as exposure to bad information: hesitant people often find it on the web and social media while searching for updated information. Its then described the role played by nurses in the healths promotion process, expecially for what concerns the communication on vaccine against SARS-Cov-2, also through an intervention on the social media. A bibliographic research has been done to write the thesis, and databases such as CINAHL, Pubmed and Cochrane Library have been consulted. The keywords vaccine hesitancy, health promotion, nursing, covid-19, communication, social media have been used. Official websits dealing with health promotion have been visited, too. Two important nursing activities were analysed: the motivational interview and the debunking, or unmasking false myths strategy through social media.
