Abstract

Arthroprotesis surgery is a very frequent and current surgical procedure. As any surgical procedure, it involves related risks and complications that must be prevented and treated early. The thesis aims to investigate how nursing care can intervene to contribute to the well-being of the surgical patient. Throught a careful review of literature and databeses such as PubMed and Google Scholar, studies have been found concerning possible solutions for the prevention and treatment of risks resulting from surgery. To further support the explanation of the subject, a clinical case is reported, whose assistance was planned through the use of taxonomies Nanda, Noc, Nic. The target is to emphasize the potential risks arising from prosthetic surgery and the fundamental role played by nurses in taking care of complications. Their roles is also fundamental in the field of therapeutic education, in order to teach the person and his family members, the best techniques and approaches to the surgical wound and learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of complications. This work finds out that this professional figure is important for the support and the accompaniment of the patient, from his entry into hospital until his resignation and to his complete or substantial autonomy.
