Abstract
Gambling has been a practise that has accompanied human’s history since ancient times. Todays it is constantly expanding, primarily due to the evolution of technology, a means by which it is even easier and more dangerous to fall, because it takes “one click” to practice it at any time, but above all it can be done in any age, with the real risk of involving and trapping even minors on these networks. The choice of the topic was born from a personal experience of direct contact with it and the theme is very current, but perhaps not so treated. The method used for the preparation consists of an in-depht bibliographical research, an accurate reading of the collected data and a summary in four chapters of the most important information. This thesis develops an analysis of the many aspects of the problem of pathological play and the treatment approaches that can be implemented to data. The clinical of this disorder is complex and debilitating on a bio-psycho-social level both for the person suffering from it and for his family. The interaction of different factors and responsibilities related to the person, the micro and the macro social context increase the vulnerability to the development of a dependency process that may involve the community. It is necessary a reduction in the supply of games and a greater awareness, through activities aimed at prevention, therapeutic education, the promotion of healthy lifestyles for the protection of the health. All this concerns the whole community and sees as one of the main protagonists the irreplaceable role of the nurse.
