Abstract
This thesis topic is pediatric patient stomacare. To better understamd the theme, the child's gastrointestinal tract anatomy, intestinal stomas definition and classification, and pathologies that cause theri creation in pediatric patients, are briefly explained. The thesis, then, focuses on the nursing care during the period preceding and following the surgery and at the discharge. It will linger on stoma complications and stomacare which comprends assembly areas knowledge, stoma care, hygiene, replacement procedure and emptying as well as the stoma irrigation technique. The assistence continues with the familly's therapeutic education. Indeed, parents will take care of the child until he will be autonomous. In order to reach this independence, it is important to involve the child as soon as possible, entrusting him with tasks according to his age. In this journey, the stoma therapist nurse has an essencial role. The caregiver is a professional who has technical and, most importantly, relational, emphatic, and educational skills. He acts as a support for the family and helps the child in its ordinary life reintegration. Lastly, to support what has been described, a case report, paired with its assistence planning, developed with NANDA-I, NOC and NIC taxonomy, is presented. This work's goal is to highlight the role of nurse in the stomacare and the neo-ostomates children care that differs from the adults' one because of the subsistence of parent-child dyad as long as for the dissimilarity in assistance needs.
