Abstract

The number of chronic ill and old people is continuously and rapidly increasing in Italy. Adequately assisting means that a multi-professional team has to carry out constant monitoring, to prevent the flareups and the worsening of diseases. Hospital treatment can not cope with the huge situation, and there is also a discontinuity in care between the hospital and the local area. In accordance with continuous technological development, and through the adoption of new digital tools, Telenursing can fill this assistancial-gap and allow continuity of care in the area. The thesis deals with Nursing Teleassistance, a valid assistance tool aimed at the management of patients in the area, aimed in particular at chronic patients who need constant and frequent follow-up. The result is a change in the professional figure of the nurse, who acquires greater working autonomy, and has the abgility to implement his instrumentation with technological medical devices. It requires specific training, it must have specific IT, communication and organizational skills for this particular care setting. To elaborate this thesis, the Italian and international literature of recent years has been consulted. The aim is to highlight how Tele-nursing is able to guarantee continuous and safe assistance, improving the patient's self-management of the pathology, especially cardiology. The research result that Telenursing can improve the quality of life of assistants, improving their therapeutic adherence, their health and their emotional state, preventing exacerbations and worsening of the disease. This results in a reduction in health care costs that the NHS has to face compared to traditional treatments. In addition, it facilitates the care and management of cardiovascular patients, improving their compliance.
