Abstract

The topic treated in the thesis is the nursing management in the nutrition of enfant preterm. It is highlighted the main importance in a well done management and the nutrient’s approach since the first moment of life. The role of the nurse is essential for the right somministration and monitoring the enfant during the entire procedure, as they are very susceptible to respiratory deficits and clinical changes. In the script are analysed the characteristics of enfant preterm, the fact of risk, epidemiology and the world which is presented in neonatal intensive care. In the second chapter, starting with general nutrition, is treating the various administration routes and valuation which is done periodically to monitor the enfant’s growth and improvement. In the continue of the thesis, is treating of breast milk, its benefits, breastfeeding, human milk and the milk bank. Finally, in the last chapter I deal with the administration of enteral nutrition, the nasogastric tube and its application, continuous and intermittent infusion in syringe pump, weaning from assisted nutrition to breast or bottle attachment, and the scale POFRAS as an assessment tool to begin an oral nutrition. The method utilised for the realization of this topic is based on a bibliography research done on the principal primary source, as CINHAL and PubMed. Furthermore, I have based my research on these sequent books: “Neonatologia” written by Giovanni Bucci, Giovanni Marzetti, Modesto Medicini, “Principi di neonatologia” by Vittorio Maglietta and Vico Vecchi, “Born too soon – The global action report on preterm birth” realised by World Health Organization. The key terms of the paper are: “Preterm”, “Premature”, “Feeding tube”, “Enteral Nutrition”, “Parenteral Nutrition”.
