Abstract
Background: the use of the nursing component in the ranks of the army is essential to ensure health levels in the population involved in conflicts and to respond to the main health needs of soldiers involved in conflicts. Subject of the thesis: the activity of military nurses in different contexts and moments. Objective of the thesis: to compare the core aspects of military nursing with the use of nurses in the civil field. Materials and methods: bibliographic collection on the conditions of employment of military nurses in peacetime and wartime. Purpose of the thesis: to highlight the peculiarities of nursing in military organizations. Criticalities: role enhancement, career recognition, financial compensation, physical integrity and complex scenarios, military career paths. Conclusions: the thesis aims to illustrate the contexts in which military nurses work, how they are formed, what they do and what may be the main differences in the engagement of the "nurse" resource compared to civilian scenarios.
