Abstract

Violence is a current phenomenon that not only presents itself as a problem at a social level but also at a health-care level, the health professionals must therefore know how to move in front of a victim of violence who requires help both directly and indirectly. In particular, the nurse has an important role because it is precisely at the moment of triage that the signals of help that a victim of violence unknowingly sends must be picked up. The first chapter defines what is violence and all the crucial aspects concerning it, therefore the types of violence, the prevention of the phenomenon, the epidemiology of the cases, the profiles of the victim and the perpetrator, the reasons for which a woman prefers not to report the aggressor, the territorial anti-violence network available for women and children and the effects that affect the victims. The second chapter describes the victim's care path in the emergency room. The third and final chapter describes the role of the nurse in assisting the victim of violence with related nursing diagnoses that can be implemented in the emergency room. Two important aspects emerge from the thesis to allow optimal assistance: the therapeutic relationship that must be established between the operator and the victim of violence and the networking between health and psychological operators, operators of anti- violence centers, law enforcement and social workers for allow a good safety plan for the victim. The paper was written thanks to bibliographic research from various official websites such as the website of the Ministry of Health and Istat. Several articles and documents have been consulted on the website of the Emilia-Romagna region. The Cinahl database was also consulted. NANDA, NIC and NOC taxonomies were used to write nursing diagnoses and their respective objectives and interventions.
