Abstract
This thesis work aims to analyze how a simple operating algorithm, if applied in a reasonable time, can double or even triple the chances of survival of people facing cardiac arrest. Thanks to Basic Life Support - Defibrillation (BLS-D) courses, even a lay person trained to perform a sequence of a few simple actions can promptly intervene in emergency situations. These procedures are aimed at preventing the person suffering from cardiac arrest, waiting for advanced rescue, from reporting transient or permanent neurological problems in the event that the resuscitation team manages to restore the correct functioning of the heart. In the context of emergency / urgency, it is essential to act quickly to avoid further worsening of the patient's condition or even his death. With this in mind, the properly trained nurse is authorized to manage some vital critical issues independently, without the advice or prescription of the doctor.
