Abstract
Kidney stones is a common clinical condition, especially in industrialized countries.
In addition to the elevated number of cases, the symptoms, which are sometimes disabling, make treatments necessary; extracorporeal lithotripsy (ESWL) is one of the possible measures to be implemented if the clinic allows it.
Analyzing the current situation in the Modena area, an important need for information and education emerged for patients who have to undergo extracorporeal renal lithotripsy; for this reason, this thesis proposes the creation of a booklet that will help users understand and assimilate the information provided by the health personnel during the check-up. Several scientific studies have shown that most of the information provided in certain conditions (state of illness or dis-well-being, anxiety, etc.) are learned to a minimum and the use of a paper support can facilitate understanding / memorization. The use of the brochure as information support will increase compliance in the self-management of stones with greater satisfaction of the patients.
