Abstract
The thesis paper deals with nursing care for people with compartment syndrome as its main theme. A literature review was carried out to produce the thesis. The Up To Date database with the keywords Acute Compartment Syndrome and fracture was mainly used. This theme is particularly important for the nursing profession since compartment syndrome is a surgical emergency and an often-unrecognised condition. Deepening this theme helps professionals to understand the problem and how to intervene. For this reason, a clinical case has been presented, i.e. the treatment of a person with compartment syndrome in a lower limb carried out through the use of NANDA-I, NOC and NIC taxonomies. These taxonomies are based on the best available scientific evidence and guide nurses in the choice of care. Finally, as nurses work together in a multi-professional care team, it is important that everyone is familiar with this subject in order to ensure the best possible treatments to the people they care for within the appropriate timeframe.
