Abstract

In this thesis, it has been described the main characteristics of multi-problematic families, their difficulties and the relationship with social-assistance services, the characteristics of adolescence, their lifestyles and their problems. Furthermore, it has been described the skills that the nurse can execute during the nursing interview, the communication and the micro skills necessary for counseling with the adolescent, finally, it has been described a tool that the nurse can use in her professional activity, the patient's diary.
For finding the sources, I used search engines like Google books, Google Scholar and the Emilia-Romagna websites, it can be viewed on the site https://www.regione.emilia-romagna.it/, from which I found textbooks and documents reference. The keywords that I used multi-problematic families, adolescents and mental health, counseling and adolescents, patient’s diary. I have taken into consideration Italian texts.
From the survey, it emerged that in multi-problematic families there could be the presence of different difficulties, related to different factors listed below: alcoholism, drug use, prolonged negative situations, associated with job loss, presence of conflicts but also other factors. As far as adolescents are concerned, it has emerged that they are going through a phase of life that can be complicated and fragile for them. In the nursing interview, the nurse's ability to put into practice empathic listening, to ask effective questions, to formulate comprehensive and coherent answers is described. The nurse also; to communicate with the adolescent should use a proactive and spontaneous method taking into consideration their mode of communication and behavior. Finally, the patient's diary was described as a useful and indispensable tool.
