Abstract

Telemedicine is a valuable tool to support the work of the nurse. One of the areas of development is in the care of patient with chronic-degenerative diseases. Digital services are taking on an important management role within the Diagnostic Therapeutic Pathways dedicated to fragile and complex patients. In agreement with technological development and the new digital tools used in healthcare, the figure of the nurse also sees a professional development represented by an increase in the autonomy of his work and an increase in responsibilities towards patients. The object of this thesis is represented by the nursing activities related to telemedicine that induce an important change in the profile of professional competence, in the implementation of the tools, personnel training and minimum organizational requirements for care settings. To elaborate this thesis, a research on Italian and international literature has been carried out on the advantages and drawbacks of using digital tools in territorial contexts. The aim of the elaboration is to highlight how telemedicine can guarantee safety and proximity to the citizen, in the extra-hospital network of services and how it can lead the nurse to a wide-ranging, multi-professional performance. The work carried out shows the sustainability of e-Care projects, which demonstrate how the adoption of telemedicine services can improve the quality of population life.
