Abstract
Eating disorders are characterized by dysfunctional attitudes towards nutrition that result in altered consumption/absorption of food. This significantly compromises physical health and/or psychosocial functioning and in the worst cases may lead to a fatal outcome. This paper aims to define the possible nursing interventions for both the patient suffering from eating disorder and the caregiver, in terms of direct assistance and therapeutic education and also highlighting the importance of such assistance on the patient's prognosis.
