Abstract
The subject I dealt with is acute heart failure with cardiogenic pulmonary edema, analyzing specifically the evaluation and treatment of nursing care in prehospital emergency. The reasons that led me to the choice of this topic were dictated by two fundamental aspects: the incidence of the disease, constantly increasing in the population, and the role of nurses operating on board the emergency vehicles of the Territorial Rescue Service (SET) 118 in the territory of Modena in taking charge of these patients, in relation to the current national and regional legislation.
This study has been carried out through a review of the scientific literature and the laws in force concerning the subject addressed.
The analysis of the literature has revealed several important aspects relating to the prehospital management of cardiac decompensation. Furthermore, consistent with the advanced nursing algorithms approved by the regional group for the validation of the guidelines for the advanced protocols of the territorial emergency system of the Emilia Romagna region during the year 2016, I chose to propose a specific algorithm for the management of the pathological picture object of my elaborate.
