Abstract
The thesis paper script deals with the topic of Burnout Syndrome in the nursing profession with particular attention to the preventive context and to the possible solutions to face it. The thesis aims to investigate this phenomenon, analyzing the levels of diffusion in the nursing field in various Italian and world realities. The method I adopted to realize the thesis involves a qualitative bibliographic research based on scientific literature, using materials found on validated databases such as PubMed, Cochrane, Cinahl as well as brownsers like Google Scholar. The first chapter illustrates the birth and evolution of the term burnout, the explanation of this
complex phenomenon, the distinction between stress and burnout with particular attention to the definition of work-related stress.
In the second chapter we intend to identify and define the multiple risk factors that favor the onset of burnout and that contribute to the increase in the incidence of this phenomenon in the nursing profession. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) is also illustrated, which is the most widespread evaluation tool for measuring burnout. The third chapter aims to develop all the possible interventions proposed in the literature for the prevention and reduction of risk with particular interest in the projects proposed in the various hospitals in Italy and the world. We also wanted to propose the creation of a psycho-educational blog as a possible tool to help nurses and the possible utility in the nursing field is analyzed and a possible implementation is idealized with the contribution of discussions by other professionals.
