Abstract

The study takes into account anaphylactic shock, the role that the nurse has in the treatment and management of the child during an anaphylactic reaction and support for his parents and/or care giver and his prevention. The choice of the topic is driven by self-interest and willingness to deepen it by experience of direct contact with it. The method used for writing is a narrative review of literature, whose bibliography research was carried out through the analysis of textbooks, manuals, websites, UpToDate and databases such as CINHAL and PubMed. Research shows that anaphylaxis is an increasing phenomenon, particularly in young people and children, and that nurses play a key role in proper care and education on the use of the adrenaline pen, recognition of signs and symptoms and risk factors; however, lacks support for standardised general guidelines in Europe on the prevention of anaphylactic shock. Therefore, the need for research initiatives to develop shared and more effective treatment and prevention strategies aimed at stopping the increase in the incidence of anaphylaxis is highlighted
