Abstract
This elaborate analyzes the characteristics of febrile seizures with special focus on the febrile status, which is one of the most important risk factors. The various tests carried out on the child, in order to exclude meningitis or other infections, as well as the anticonvulsant drugs and dosages are described. The management of a febrile seizure in hospital and at home consists in different phases which are explored in depth. Therefore, particular attention is given to the great impact the role of the nurse has on the psychological state of the parents of the patient. This person will support them explaining the correct procedure to execute when these events will repeat at home. In these situations, the ability to listen to and empathize with parents is of great importance. Finally, to write this thesis, a review of the literature was carried out through the re-elaboration of the bibliographic research and scientific articles found on Databases such as UpToDate
