Abstract
Through the experience undertaken in the various services of the department of mental health such as spdc (diagnosis and treatment) baggiovara and csm (territorial centers for taking charge of the territory), i decided to analyze, assisted by dr. Antonella Bisi in nursing, the metabolic syndrome (MS) to define the influence of this on the path of life and care of the person with psychiatric distress, outlining the best strategies to make more effective nursing intervention. Analyzing the collected data we have associated the high number of users presenting symptoms of the syndrome with the use of neuroleptics. In this thesis, MS will be analyzed from a medical-nursing point of view:
- defining what neuroleptics are and how they are used;
- the lifestyle that the person undergoing therapy should follow and how this can help health professionals to highlight symptoms and signs of disease involving the cardiovascular district by increasing the severity of the clinical picture;
- the nurse's strategies for effective interventions;
- the importance of nurse-patient compliance.
