Abstract

Clinical studies amply demonstrate the comorbidity existing between Persistence Disorders and Drug Addiction, a comorbidity that is more recently defined as co-occurrence or double diagnosis. The high frequency of Personality Disorders in Ad-diction Services shows that they too frequently are associated with severe toxins, and are not curable only with the help of drugs, in fact consider both disturbances present in a double diagnosis, helps in the design of individualized and therefore more effec-tive treatments. This is why cognitive-behavioral motivational therapy by psycho-therapists and behavioral dialectic are the most suitable therapies for this type of dis-order, the most widely used being Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT). The interven-tion on these patients is very complex: the simultaneous presence of two disorders leads to greater psychopathological severity and a tendency to chronic problems of addiction, patients are more susceptible to relapses and the quality of life is worse. A prepared, multidisciplinary team is needed, in which the nurse plays a fundamental role, because despite the long care times and the difficulties in communication and management of these patients, developed the appropriate skills, can design targeted interventions, group and individual, based on the relationship and on a motivational interview.
