Abstract

Despite the existence of cutting-edge diagnostic techniques, there are numerous cases of women losing their child, because of spontaneous abortion. The ISTAT data of 2018 report that its incidence is about 40% in 40-year-old women and about 20% in those who have 30 or less years. The study aims to investigate some aspects related to the woman, caused by a particular event of her life, considering the physical and the psychological impact that can have on her and on the family and, based on these, on which aspects it is more appropriate to focus the nursing assistance inserted in a context of multidisciplinary collaboration. The articulation of the elaborate proposes a first part of the study in which is defined the spontaneous abortion, the incidence, the etiopathogenesis, the diagnosis and continues considering the impact of the loss for the woman and her family. The second part highlights the nursing skills to be implemented in the clinical pathways and which can be added to those of the midwife, of the medical and social assistance staff considering the aspects of collaboration and autonomy in respect of each specific role competences. Among the nursing abilities is then emphasized the skills of counseling that the discipline offers. At the end, are indicated some possible nursing diagnoses related to outcomes and interventions contemplated in the eleventh edition of the taxonomy NANDA International
