Abstract
With the expansion of knowledge and laws in the health field and the progress of evidence-based practice, nursing has experienced significant professional growth, assisted also by a growing number of increasingly informed citizens demanding about their path of care. Measuring the Nursing Sensitive Outcomes is a "strategy" that would allow us to know with a more critical eye the impact that an effective and safe assistance would have on the patient, and encouraging the nurse’s commitment and dedication in providing quality care underlining its importance. Highlightin its role means inevitably assume quality care and boosting the value of the nursing mission. The purpose of this thesis was to explore all the aspects that have a significant impact on some outcomes, to find out what the methods of measurement and evaluation of the outcomes are internationally, and to study the Italian context today on this topic. According to investigations conducted by researchers, there is still insufficient evidence of the impact of nursing care on nursing sensitive outcomes, due to lack of research especially in our country. It is reccomanded to support the growing interest on this topic, with further in-depth studies and targeted research, to consolidate the data already known in the literature and provide a starting point for future nursing research.
