Abstract
The peripherally inserted central venous catheter (PICC) is a device now commonly used in hospital and extra-hospital settings, for the use of medium-term intravenous infusions, distinguishing itself from the other central venous accesses for the implant dependent on the nursing figure. The person who takes care of the patient isnt the single health worker but a team of expert professional figures who work together to implement the most suitable interventions in favor of the venous access device. Living with a PICC can change the lifestyle of the person, who must adapt their daily life to the device. The nurse uses the therapeutic education, in order to instruct the patient on the behaviour to be taken to have a proper management of the PICC at home. During an educational interview, a brochure can be used as a supporting information tool. The information leaflet contains all the information related to the PICC, which the person can access at any time of doubt or need. The purpose of this thesis is to highlight how therapeutic education and the creation of an information booklet containing all the information related to the PICC can help the patient to accept the change in which he/she will be subjected and becoming more responsible for his / her course of care.
