Abstract

This papers deals with with outgoing complications of dyalisis, multiple elements that depend on the session itself or its wrong management; they can be avoided or corrected by nursing or physician involvement. People undergoing dyalisis suffer from advanced chronic renal failure, a condition that implies altered renal function that lasts beyond three months in the most severe stage (the fifth) of the five in which is classified according to its severity. Dialysis is a phycal process that separates the particles in solution through a semipermeable membrane; in simple words a contaminated solution is purified by a "washing solution" from which it is separated by a semipermeable membrane. The solution containing the substances excreted from the blood and removed is called dialysate.
The interest in the management of complications during the hemodialysis session stems from the direct experience of the internship in the Dialysis department of the Sant'Agostino Estense Civil Hospital of Baggiovara, during which was possible to observe the prevention, onset and nursing management during a hemodialysis session. Given the interest, it was decided to deepen the topic and to study the chronic renal failure, its pathophysiology and the treatments applied to it, paying particular attention to hemodialysis and complications that may appear during a session; therefore, a bibliographic research was conducted by consulting the main databases and revising scientific articles, protocols, guidelines and books, giving preference to users aged ≥ 18 years.
